A creation inspired by bronze bas relief. In this workshop, students will learn how to transfer images using royal icing, making bas-relief peacock using sugarpaste, creating feather effect using royal icing brush embroidery technique, piping peacock’s body using royal icing pressure piping, painting with edible colors and applying gold on cake to achieve vintage bronze bas-relief effect.

Open to all skill levels. In the interest in dedicating the most amount of time in the workshop to learning the techniques, we will be using styrofoam and they will be precovered for all students.

A creation that combines fashion and sugar art, this design is inspired by the beauty of the Mandarin dress better known as “Cheong Sam”. This class is all about learning to turn a piping nozzle into an effective sewing needle. Kelvin will teach the embroidery technique using royal icing tube embroidery technique. Participants will get to create beautiful embroidered collar and cheong sam buttons. Basic royal icing string work will also be taught in this workshop. 

Open to all skill levels. In the interest in dedicating the most amount of time in the workshop to learning the techniques, we will be using styrofoam and they will be precovered for all students.

Merry-go-round

A 2 days royal icing workshop inspired by Merry-go-round. In this workshop, students will get to produce this beautiful artwork done entirely with royal icing. While constructing this artwork, various techniques will be taught such as drop line technique, pressure piping, embroidery piping, filigree piping, Run-out technique on flat surface, Run-out technique on curve surface and many more.

Open to all levels however basic understanding of piping will be an advantage.
